At first, the Galaxy Z Flip was believed to have the name Galaxy Fold 2. However, at a closed conference at CES 2020, it was learned that the latest HP folding from Samsung was named Galaxy Bloom – which was later believed to be codename only, not an official name. Shortly after, a tweet from one of the famous ‘leakers’ – Ice Universe, revealed that the next folding cell from Samsung would be called Galaxy Z Flip. It is believed that this “Z” will be the official naming pattern for Samsung mobile phones in the future. As the name suggests, the Galaxy Z Flip will carry a vertical folding design, rather than horizontally like the Galaxy Fold. The screen – based on leaked photos from Weibo, uses a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED panel. Furthermore, punch-holes are also included in the top center, along with a thin bezel and a small 1-inch screen next to the rear camera. The new mini screen will be activated when the main screen is folded, known to display the clock and info about the battery. For others, the Galaxy Z Flip is also rumored to only be equipped with a side fingerprint sensor, rather than on the screen. Apart from its premium appearance, it is believed that the Galaxy Z Flip will not carry such premium specifications. First, a report from MySmartPrice claims that the Galaxy Z Flip will only be powered by Snapdragon 855 – which in 2020 is in the old category. Secondly, rumors from various sources say that the battery carried will not be more than 4000mAh (around 3,300-3,500mAh). For RAM and storage so far not yet known, but the lowest possible model will carry 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Although not equipped with the latest specifications, the Galaxy Z Flip will not leave features that are generally present in HP flagship.
Some of the most likely to be present are fast-charging, complete with wireless-charging and reverse wireless-charging. For photography, the Galaxy Z Flip is rumored not to be as superior as the Galaxy S20 Series which is said to be equipped with a 108MP main camera. Galaxy Z Flip will be more ‘calm’ with two rear cameras, each of which is the main camera 12MP and ultra-wide 10MP. As for the front camera, it is not yet known which resolution will be the MP. Turning to prices, a Bloomberg report said that Samsung wants to make a new folding cellphone that is cheaper than Galaxy Fold. Considering that Galaxy Fold has a price of around US $ 2000, that is not a difficult thing. Finally there is availability. Galaxy Z Flip itself passed the FCC test on January 24 yesterday, which indicates that the release time will not be long. Reporting from Yonhap News, Galaxy Z Flip will soon be released to the market shortly after it was launched at Galaxy Unpacked 2020 early February. South Korea and the United States will be the first two countries that can taste the Galaxy Z Flip, followed by other countries shortly after. For Indonesia itself, considering that last year Galaxy Fold was officially sold in Indonesia, there is no reason for Galaxy Z Flip not to be like that.
