Long awaited, Razer finally announced his first smartphone. The device called Razer Phone was made specifically for gaming purposes.
Razer himself did not mention with detail what gaming features are present in Razer Phone so the device is called smartphone gaming.
To be sure, Razer Phone has a screen with a high refresh rate, which reaches 120 Hz. Until now, in addition to Razer Phone, there is only one other smartphone that has a 120 Hz screen feature, the phone is made Sharp. There is also a 8 GB jumbo RAM.
“You will not see a tearing screen or jaggies,” said Eric Lin, Product Manager of Razer, as sums up from Venture Beat, Thursday (2/11/2017).
“If you’re on a website, Razer Phone can lower your power, but if you start scrolling, it will go up, it’s very useful for games,” Lin said.
The screen itself spans 5.72 inches with 1440p resolution support (2560 x 1440). This screen is said to have a wide color gamut and protected Gorilla Glass 3.
In terms of hardware, Razer Phone is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 8 GB RAM, and 64 GB of storage media that can be upgraded by using a microSD card up to 2 TB. Razer Phone also comes with a fingerprint sensor to tighten security.
Razer Phone has a 12 megapixel dual camera configuration on the back. The first camera to take photos wide, while both have 2x zoom capability.
While the front camera measures 8 megapixels.
In terms of batteries, Razer uses lithium ion of 4,000 mAh. There is also a Quick Charge capability that allows for quick charging.
From the audio side, Razer phones are supported by Dolby Atmos Speaker. Not only that, the phone made by the renowned game vendor is certified by THX so it makes the game experience better.
The system on the Razer phone still uses the Nougat version of Android. However, this version can be upgraded to Oreo in early 2018.
Razer Phone will be available in the US market on November 17th.
